Dear Families,
I am very excited to be your child's second grade teacher! I can't wait to start the year, meet new faces and get to know one another. This will be my sixth year at Barton Creek Elementary and am just thrilled to be here! I originally got my Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and received my teacher certification through Southern Methodist University. In 2009, I earned my Master’s degree in Education at Texas A&M University.
I have been teaching for a total of fifteen years and have absolutely LOVED every minute of it! I taught first grade for two years in Richardson ISD, and then for six more years at Steiner Ranch Elementary in Leander ISD. This will be my ninth year teaching second grade and I feel so blessed to be part of the BCE family!
We will be doing many hands-on activities throughout the year to make learning FUN and meaningful! This year we will see blossoming readers and writers, curious scientists, persistent problem-solvers, explorers, artists and many other unique roles being filled by your child. Second graders are so delightful; I just love their inquisitive minds, open hearts, and love of learning! I hope to further foster these traits so that each day of school is purposeful and so that they have the tools needed to reach their potential.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my sweet girl, Vivian Jane. She will also be attending BCE in the Child Development Center. I also love exploring the great outdoors. I love hiking with my dog, kayaking, and spending time relaxing with family and friends just about anywhere!
Thank you so much for sharing your child with me! I am looking forward to a fun filled, challenging year of growth and learning!
Sincerely,
Ms. Vogel
